ColourSpun in Stitches - Knit Waffle Stitch

This very easy Waffle stitch creates an even texture that resembles waffles – and who can resist those. It is great for blankets, cushions, mats, scarves, dish cloths…

Worked over a multiple of 3 stitches and 4 rows. It’s an easy stitch that only uses knit and purl stitches, and so is an easy pattern for those beginners who have mastered the basics and are looking to expand their repertoire.

You will need:

ColourSpun yarn of your choice

Knitting needles to suit your yarn

Abbreviations

  • C/on      cast on
  • C/off     cast off
  • K             knit
  • P             purl
  • Sts          stitches

Instructions

C/on a number of stitches divisible by 3

Row1 and 3: (K2; P1) to end

Row 2: (K1; P2) to end

Row 4: Knit

These 4 rows make the Waffle Stitch pattern, knit until your work reaches the desired length.
