A beautiful eyelet stitch that resembles Broderie Anglaise embroidered fabric. Its perfect for soft, feminine knits and for babies.
You will need:
ColourSpun Yarn of your choice
Needles to suit your yarn
Abbreviations
K: knit
k1long, k2, k1 long: Step 1: Insert your right needle into the space between the k2tog and ssk from 2 rows earlier.
Step 2: Knit one stitch through this hole. Knit the next two stitches on your left needle, and then knit another stitch through same space you picked up in Step 1.
Try to keep your tension even on both stitches so that they will be of equal length.
k2tog: knit 2 together
ssk: slip, slip, knit (slip one stitch knit wise, slip another knit wise, knit these two together)
Instructions
Cast on a multiple of 8 plus 4
Knit 5 rows.
Row 1: *k4; k2tog; ssk. Repeat from * until end of row.
Row 2: Purl all stitches
Row 3: *k4; k1long, k2, k1long. Repeat from * until end of row.
Row 4: Purl all stitches.
Row 5. k2tog; ssk; *k4; k2tog; ssk. Repeat from * until end of row.
Row 6: Purl all stitches.
Row 7: k1long, k2, k1long; *k4; k1long, k2, k1long. Repeat from * until end of row.
Row 8: Purl all stitches.
Repeat these 8 rows for pattern
Knit 5 rows
Cast off.
