Aine, (awn + ye) is an ancient Irish name that means “splendor, radiance, brilliance.” Aine is associated with midsummer and the sun, was a Celtic Goddess of summer, wealth and sovereignty and also a Faery Queen. She is sometimes represented by a red mare and appears in folktales as “the best-hearted woman who ever lived, lucky in love and in money.”
This little doll has knitted fingers, toes, ears and a nose. The mouth, eyes and eyebrows are embroidered on and the hair is knotted to the head.

Hand wash in cool water. Squeeze gently, do not twist or wring. Dry flat on back. Rearrange stuffing if necessary when dry. Store with a little scented soap or camphor wood blocks.
