Berry Stitch – Knit

Worked over a multiple of 4 stitches and 4 rows, this Berry Stitch has a fabulous knobbly texture. There are more versions of this stitch, one of which is used on the Berries Blanket – find it in the Patterns and Instructions section of our online shop.

You will need

ColourSpun yarn of your choice.

Needles to suit your yarn.

Abbreviations

C/on cast on
C/off cast off
K knit
Inc2 increase – knit into front of next stitch, knit into back of stitch and again into front. You will have worked 3 stitches into 1
P purl
P3tog purl the next 3 stitches together
St/s stitch/es
YO yarn over

Instructions

C/on a multiple of 4 sts + 3

Row 1

K1; Inc2; (P3; Inc2) to last st; K1.

Row 2

K4; P3tog; (K3, P3tog) to last 4 sts; K4.

Row 3

K1; P3; (Inc2; P3) to last st; P1.

Row 4

K1; P3tog; (K3; P3tog) to last st; K1.

Repeat Rows 1-4 until you reach your required length. C/off
